钟馗，是中国民间传说中的赐福镇宅圣君。中国著名的汉族民间神之一，后来被道教纳入神仙体系，他的主要职能是捉鬼，还可纳福、招财。白泽作为钟馗的坐骑，根据《山海经》的记载，“东望山有兽，名曰白泽，能言语，王者有德，明照幽远则至。”白泽是一种具有驱魔镇邪能力的灵瑞神兽，能通晓古今之事，并会说人言，据说拥有白泽可以消除妖魔。白泽的主人是能打鬼驱邪的神钟馗，钟馗常骑着白泽出现，并为人们带来正义与善良的力量。
